Choir

Sing praises to God, sing praises;
    sing praises to our King, sing praises.

Psalm 47:6

The Choir sings every Sunday during the year (except Easter Sunday) and certain nights during Holy Week.   Choir starts at 9:30 with the singing of the Doxology and continues through the entire Divine Liturgy.

The music sung is strictly Byzantine, and is sung in both Greek and English.  All the music includes Greek phonetics, so the ability to read Greek is not a pre-requisite for singing.

All parishioners who are interested in participating in this very important ministry are invited to join!  There are no auditions.

St. John the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church in Webster, TX has a great resource for Byzantine music.  Included is recording of the hymns, and available sheet music.
